The University of Nebraska picked up a big recruiting commitment Wednesday as Keyshawn Johnson Jr. announced he will join the Huskers.

The standout wide receiver is the son of NFL star Keyshawn Johnson.

Johnson, an NFL all-pro player, tweeted out that relationships and trust were a big part of the decision.

The relationship between Keyshawn Johnson Sr. and Mike Riley was a solid factor in his son's decision to become a Husker.

Johnson Jr. announced he will play for the same coach that helped develop his dad's career in a video released on Bleacher Report.

In part, his pre-recorded message said:

"It's not easy being born for greatness. I've lived up to it my whole life. Always trying to follow in its footsteps. My name stands for something, gives me something to strive for but I'm more than just my name," Johnson said in the 1 minute, 32 second video. "I'm here to blaze my own trail, build my own legacy, work for my future. The expectations are high, the pressure immense. Do I take his torch or light my own?" "I told y'all I was going to make my own path. Go Big Red."

Riley was the wide receiver coach for USC in the mid 90's and coached Keyshawn Sr. Also, judging by social media, potential Husker recruits seem to be very excited about what Riley and his staff are selling.

Despite the lack of conference championships in the past 15 years, the Husker staff is really opening the eyes of a handful of top level recruits. This wasn't necessarily the case under Bo Pelini.
