LINCOLN (KMTV) — Nebraska running back Dedrick Mills has played his last game for the Huskers as the senior announced on Tuesday he will enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Mills' decision was announced on the same day the Huskers added the commit USC running back transfer Markese Stepp.
Mills made his departure announcement on Twitter. He could've returned for another season since the NCAA granted all players an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mills rushed for 396 yards this year, a career-high 191 of which came in the Big Red's season finale at Rutgers last month. In his two seasons at Nebraska, the Georgia native ran for 1,141 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Mills could have returned in 2021 since the NCAA granted all fall student-athletes a free season of eligibility because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
