SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KMTV) — Our partners at the Omaha World-Herald are reporting former Husker Maurice Washington has been sentenced after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges related to transmitting video of an underage girl performing a sex act.
Washington received a sentence of 30 days in jail and two years of probation for sending the video to the girl who was in it. She was 15 at the time it was filmed. He was not present when it was captured.
Washington was facing a felony but the prosecution dropped the charge in exchange for a no contest plea.
On Thursday, he was booked in the Santa Clara County Jail in California and is scheduled to be released on the 20th.
Head Coach Scott Frost dismissed Maurice Washington from the program in January this year.
