OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska and Akron's athletic departments have reached an agreement on the canceled football game that was scheduled for September 1, 2018.
It's a two part agreement that Nebraska will pay Akron $650,000 for the originally scheduled game canceled due to severe weather. The original contract was a guarantee of $1.17 million for Akron to come play in Lincoln. Nebraska has agreed to pay more than half of the original guaranteed sum.
In addition, Nebraska will play Akron in Memorial Stadium on September 6, 2025. Akron will receive $1.45 million for that game.
