The Kansas City Royals made a few roster moves ahead of opening day that will affect the Omaha Storm Chasers starting lineup.

Left-handed relievers Brian Flynn and Scott Alexander were optioned to Omaha. Alexander spent most of the 2015 season with the Storm Chasers. The 2015 Pitcher of the Year recorded a 2.56 ERA with a 2-3 record in 41 appearances.

Alexander was called to Kansas City at the end of the 2015 season. The reliever had an impressive 2016 Spring Training with the Royals, throwing eight strikeouts and 7.1 scoreless innings over seven appearances on the mound.

Flynn missed the majority of the 2015 season with a torn lat muscle. Flynn recorded a 1-1 record over five appearances with the Royals during 2016 Spring Training with a 12.00 ERA and four strikeouts.

Infielders Dusty Coleman and Orlando Calixte, as well as catcher Parker Morin were assigned to the Royals minor league camp.

The first official roster for the Storm Chasers will not likely be released until after April 3. The Storm Chasers open their season at 7:05 p.m. April 7 at Werner Park.
