Slow start costs Creighton mens basketball against Butler

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Creighton men's basketball just couldn't get it going early in a road loss to butler 84-69 on Saturday at Hinkie Fieldhouse.

The Bluejays had stints where they struggled shooting, and trailed at halftime by 19. They started the second half strong by scoring the half's first 11 points, but they never got closer than 12 points.

Creighton forward Martin Krampelj led the Jays with 16 points asnd 8 rebounds. Guards Mitch Ballock and Davion Mintz had 13 and 10 points respectively.

The Blujeays are now 105 overall and 1-1 in BIG EAST play. The team is back in action on January 9th against 16th ranked Marquette at 6 p.m. inside the CHI Health Centeer.
