OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — At the hospital staff and nurses try just about anything to make patients feel better. And this Valentine's Day patients on the oncology floor at Methodist got a little extra love today.
A little bit of a puppy love that is. Every Thursday Lexi and Dude roam the halls at Methodist visiting patients to brighten their day. Kris Weland works with the Volunteer therapy dogs. She said she loves to see the reactions to Dude and Lexi. "It's just an immediate smile when I say would you like a visit from one of our therapy dogs and they say oh my gosh are you kidding, and it's almost like they forget they are sick for a few minutes."
Weland said some of the patients don't smile all week until they see the dogs.
