OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Creighton women's basketball team defeated in-state rival nebraska 75-64 sunday in omaha.
The Jays have won three-straight in the rivalry, the longest streak in the 45 games of the series. Head coach Jim Flanery thinks the rivalry will stay strong with CU recruiting BIG EAST caliber athletes each year.
"We feel we're a good enough program where we feel it will happen more than it did for a while and I think being in the Big East has elevated our profile and helped us recruit a little bit so I think the series will be a little bit more competitive that it was maybe from 1995 to 2015 and we are in a better position in the BIG EAST," Flanery said.
Creighton faces UNO Wednesay in an all-Omaha matchup at DJ Sokol Arena.
