OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — I-80 in both directions was closed because of a felony traffic stop on Friday. It happened around 10 a.m. where the interstate crosses the Missouri River.
Nebraska State Patrol said a pickup was speeding and driving erratically on the highway and led troopers on a chase.
Near the bridge, the truck hit barriers and came to a stop.
The driver was identified as 26-year-old Quentin Rockefeller. He was arrested for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, no driver’s license, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and traffic violations. Rockefeller was booked into the Douglas County Jail.
By about 10:20 a.m. all but one lane reopened and the scene was fully cleared by 11 a.m. but the closures did cause delays for drivers.
