OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — In less than two months, the Huskers will be holding their spring game and they'll do so without kicker Barret Pickering.

Our partners at the Omaha World-Herald report that Pickering has chosen to leave the program after two seasons with the Huskers.

Pickering made 3-of-5 field goals during the 2019 season, a campaign shortened by injury. In his entire Husker career, he went 17-for-23 on field goals.

Pickering committed to the program during the tenure of former head coach coach Mike Riley.

The Huskers will still have four kickers on the roster.

3 News Now Reporter Phil Bergman spoke with Pickering during his first season, back in 2018.
