More Sunshine To Start The Workweek

Rain returns midweek

and last updated

Tuesday morning will start in the low 40s here in Omaha with some sunshine, but clouds push in for the afternoon. It will also be windy, with winds up to 40 mph. Even with the extra clouds, we will warm to near 60.

Scattered showers and storms push in from the east late Tuesday night, which may hold off until closer to midnight. A couple of these storms could be strong to severe as they push in with some pockets of larger hail or strong winds. Storms then weaken as they expand east overnight.

The rain will likely be widespread by the Wednesday morning commute, then continue on and off through the rest of the day. We also stay windy throughout the day as we warm into the upper 50s.

The strong winds continue Thursday, but it's still unclear how long the rain will stay with us. At a minimum, the rain will still be around for western Iowa Thursday morning, but it could linger through the afternoon.

Rain totals of 1-3 inches will be common with the higher totals in western Iowa.

We're still breezy Friday, but the sunshine is back with highs in the upper 50s.

Halloween weekend is looking mostly sunny and dry. Saturday will be in the low 60s, but we cool into the mid 50s for Sunday.
