Rain on Valentine's Evening, Plus We Could See Snow

Colder end to the workweek

and last updated

We'll see a mostly clear sky overnight as we drop just below freezing for Wednesday morning.

After some morning sun, clouds take over the skies Wednesday afternoon, but more of us will reach the mid 50s for Valentine's Day afternoon.

If you have plans to go out for Valentine's Day evening, it would be best to have an umbrella handy! A few spotty rain showers will be possible ahead of our next cold front. Areas north of Omaha will have the best chance to see spotty showers in the evening. Neighborhoods south of Omaha will have the best chance to stay dry.

It will get colder and breezy behind the cold front, dropping in the upper 20s for Thursday morning.

Thursday will be partly cloud, chilly and breezy with highs near 40.

Our best chance for snow will be Thursday night and into Friday morning, but at this point, it does not look like a major snow. Many of us likely end up with an inch or two... give or take. Locations in northeast Nebraska could see 2+ inches of snow. With the timing of snow just before Friday morning, it could easily slow down the Friday morning commute.

Friday will be the coldest day of the week with highs in the low 30s and mostly cloudy skies. It will probably be a little breezy still too and we could see a few snow flurries.

We start to warm back up over the weekend with a lot of sunshine. Saturday will be in the upper 30s followed by upper 40s on Sunday.

Monday and Tuesday of next week will also be near 50 with mostly sunny skies.
