OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - A child is the latest coronavirus case in Douglas County, officials said Friday.

It brings coronavirus cases in the county to 12, not including anyone brought to Nebraska Medicine’s Quarantine or Biocontainment Units.

Officials said the child is a household contact of five earlier cases that were announced on Wednesday. Those people are connected to the earlier case of a woman who had traveled to California and Nevada.

Officials said everyone in the household has been in self-quarantine for several days. Hospitalization has not been required.

Epidemiologists will investigate to determine if anyone else in the community has been exposed.
