OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A crew of Nebraska inmates just finished up a flood relief project at a National Guard training camp in Ashland.

Since mid-March, the Department of Corrections Services (DOCS) says a group of 16 men made a daily trek to work eight hours a day at the flood-struck military installation.

The crew was one of two that were contracted by the military through the DOCS' Cornhusker State Industries program which allows inmates to learn on-the-job skills.
