OMAHA, NE — As recovery efforts continue following the devastating floods in Nebraska and Iowa, the Salvation Army says it still needs a variety of items donated to help with relief efforts.
The Salvation Army has set up a Disaster Relief Center at the old Canfield's facility near 84th and Center. The group says it has seen as many as 200 families per day stop by to get needed items, and they are also shipping out items to communities hit hard by the flooding.
As the DRC continues its operations and maintains its presently-scheduled hours (Mon-Sat 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sun 12 p.m.-5 p.m. until further notice), here’s the latest list of needed items:
* N-95 dust masks
* Scoop shovels
* Floor squeegees
* Long rubber gloves
* Wader boots
* Spray bottles
* Laundry soap
* Personal hygiene items (deodorant, bath soap, toothpaste, etc.)
* Box fans
* Bleach
* Disinfectant
* Paper towels
* 5-gallon buckets
* Work gloves
* Scrub brushes
* Cleaning rags
* Large, heavy-duty garbage bags
* First-aid kits
* School supplies
* New, unwrapped bedding
* New towels and washcloths
* New baby supplies
* Snack items
* Paper plates, forks/knives/s
