Sixteen-year-old injured in early Sunday shooting

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A 16-year-old male suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot by a 20-year-old man early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the area of 3301 N. 59th St at 3:32 a.m., locating a male who was shot.

The 16-year-old victim was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center.

Nicholas Dunn, 20, was identified as the suspect. He remained on scene and was later booked into Douglas County Corrections for 2nd Degree Assault.

Investigation revealed the males were handling the firearm and the victim was shot, according to the Omaha Police Department.
