A 15-year-old suspect is in custody in connection with one of three Wednesday evening robberies, police say.
The Omaha Police Department is investigating three robberies that happened within three hours Wednesday.
Police say a 15-year-old suspect was located after the first robbery around 7:30 p.m. at the Family Dollar near 24th and Hamilton streets.
Witnesses said two men, both wearing hooded sweatshirts and one armed with a gun, entered the store and demanded money. One of the men hit an employee in the head with a gun before fleeing, according to investigators.
Police say they found the teen with a gun at apartments near 27th and Cuming Street. The other suspect was not located.
About an hour later, another robbery was reported at the Dollar General at 56th and Ames. Police say witnesses told them a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a bandanna demanded money at gunpoint.
Around 10:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery at the MegaSaver on 72nd Street, near Military Avenue.
Witnesses said a man with a gun, wearing a mask and dark, hooded sweatshirt, robbed the store.
