"I feel like when I was growing up to now, there is a lot more danger to kidnapping, then when I was younger," said Katelynne Raborn.

While having lunch with her two young children Katelyn Raborn says Monday’s incident is concerning.

"Social media is big for predators; little kids are just so trusting," Raborn said.

It was here at Bennington School District where a 13 year-old girl says a man in a red SUV asked her if she needed a ride.

"The person tried to get them in the vehicle, take them on a ride, take them to their home, she didn't know the person, so she said no twice," said Bennington School District Superintendent Terry Haack.

Police say they believe the man then approached another child who also declined the stranger's offer.

"We are actively seeking out to see if there is any video in the area to kind of confirm that this did in fact happen," said Lt. Williams Rinn.

In the meantime Superintendent Terry Haack says it's important to teach kids the dangers of walking alone.

"If you don't know the person never get into their vehicle, number two always buddy up with someone," Haack said.
