Bond was set at $1 million for the caregiver of a 4-year-old girl found dead in a north Omaha home.
Chelsey Cook, 22, faces a felony child abuse charge in connection with the death of Alicia Morrow.
Prosecutors said Morrow was found wrapped in plastic in the basement of Cook's home on Tuesday evening.
Cook began caring for the child in December 2014. The biological mother, Lakisha Morrow, was not allowed in the courtroom for Friday's hearing because of her behavior.
Extra police officers were called to the jail to monitor the situation.
