An Omaha daycare owner charged for allegedly assaulting a 4-year old girl in her care made her first court appearance Monday afternoon.
A judge set 58 year old Lynn Rowe's bond at $10,000 for felony child abuse. Police arrested her Thursday night on a warrant in Missouri Valley, Iowa and brought her back to Omaha Friday. Rowe also waived her preliminary hearing. If convicted Rowe faces up to 3 years in prison.
A former employee at Lynn's Learning Center filmed Rowe apparently striking the girl several times while she was doing some sort of assignment on March 28th. DHHS issued an emergency order closing the daycare and barring Rowe from caring for children. Rowe's attorney says she has surrendered her state license.
