Authorities say that 26-year-old Christopher Schneider was racing a Camaro in his 2012 Dodge Charger when he lost control on a curve at Harry Anderson Boulevard near Harrison Street.
Officials said that passers-by called police department at around 2:30 am and stayed at the scene until police arrived.
Schneider was also cited for his second DUI and reckless driving after medics checked him on-scene and found no injuries.
Authorities say that Schneider had no passengers and the other presumed driver was not located.
LA Vista PD officials say that the Charger appears to be totaled.
