A building fire in northeast Omaha had more hazards than just flames, according to fire officials.
A passerby reported seeing flames coming from the abandoned building at 16th and Corby streets around 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The state of the building provided some difficulties firefighters.
“It was boarded up, and locked up and battened down, so once crews did make it inside there, they made a little bit of a stop on the fire but weren’t able to get to most of it,” said Battalion Chief Zach Ryan.
No one was injured by the fire. Firefighters are still trying to determine the cause.
