A La Vista family is pleading for the safe return of their beloved Yorkie, Sonny, who escaped from their back yard and was found by a man who claimed he was going to return the little dog.
But it's been about two weeks, and there's been so sign of Sonny or the man who took him.
Nicole Semrau said the 10-year-old Yorkshire terrier escaped near a neighborhood at 72nd and James streets, and was picked up within 10 minutes by a stranger.
Several people had pulled over to stop the little terrier from darting into traffic.
A man described as in his 50s with short dark hair in a white Dodge Ram truck told bystanders that he would take Sonny to the Humane Society, but Sonny never made it to the animal shelter.
The family is hoping Sonny will be returned, no questions asked. ?
Sonny is described as very friendly with people and other dogs, he's standard Yorkshire terrier sized with upright ears.
