LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will launch an inspection effort next month checking for Zebra Mussels and other invasive species.
The Game and Parks Commission will be spot checking boats on state waters and boaters will not be allowed to launch or leave boat ramps with external water on their watercraft.
In 2010, the Army Corps of Engineers had to drain Lake Zorinsky because of the discovery of Zebra Mussels. Despite the draining process, which took almost two years, the mussels returned to the lake last year.
