The Omaha City Council approved next year's budget on Tuesday.
Mayor Jean Stothert's more than 850-million dollar budget includes a two-percent cut in property taxes.
The approved budget also include more money for roads, police officers, fire equipment and library services.
It also keeps the controversial restaurant tax. When Mayor Jean Stothert campaigned for office she said she would limit the tax burden. At the time, she had said she hoped to reduce or eliminate the restaurant tax.
