When it comes to making their a communities a better place to live, kids can do remarkable things to make a difference.
Twelve-year-old Ella Alberts of Omaha knows all about making a difference, she was recently awarded the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, an award given to two kids in each state for their community service. Her prize: $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C.
Over the past four years, Alberts has collected more than $1,000 and hundreds of supplies for local animal shelters by operating a lemonade stand with her friends once a year.
