Omaha Police officer shoots charging dog

Omaha Police were forced to shoot a dog Thursday night.

Police say officers were in the area of 8th and Frances around 9 p.m. when they saw a man armed with a gun run in front of them.  As the officers were taking the man into custody, the dog charged at the officers. One of the officers shot and killed the dog.

Police say after the dog was shot there was a disturbance and multiple people were taken into custody.
