An Omaha teen is in custody tonight after a shooting Wednesday that injured a toddler.

La’Shannon Bland, 18, has been booked for 2nd degree assault, possession of a stolen fire arm and evidence tampering following tonight’s shooting.

Omaha police were called to a home near North 34th and Weber just before 5 p.m.   Officers found a 1-year-old boy with a gunshot wound.  He was rushed to Nebraska Medicine.  Tonight his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police say Bland admitted to firing the gun, which was located on scene.
