Officials say the suspect in the officer involved shooting near 24th & Q is dead.
The man has been Identified as 25-year-old David Anderson.
A Douglas County Sheriff's Office Deputy was involved in a shooting on 24 and Q Tuesday afternoon.
At around 3:40 PM, Douglas County Sheriff Deputies assigned to the Fugitive Warrants Division were attempting to serve a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance near 22nd & Q St.
Officials said that during the course of apprehending the subject of the warrant, shots were fired.
The suspect was struck and subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, where he later died.
The involved Deputies were not injured.
Officials say that the Omaha Police Department’s Officer-Involved Investigations Team is investigating this incident.
The involved Deputies have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
The Omaha Police Department will handle all inquiries from the media during the remainder of the investigation.
