One day after the engineering firm HDR pulled the plug and canceled its scheduled move to downtown Omaha. we're getting a look at other potential building sites in downtown Omaha.
Mayor Jean Stothert's office says 10 locations were under consideration as potential sites for the headquarters and 900 workers. The list is as follows:
11th and Dodge (soup lot)
Wall Street Tower site (north of current UP)
2 sites on Civic Auditorium property
Downtown main branch library property
State office building, south side of Leahy Mall
NW corner of 24th and Dodge (hotel now under construction on this site)
20th-24th, between Harney and Dodge
Midtown Crossing area, Park Avenue-Turner Blvd, Farnam to Harney
Property west of Film Streams and Slowdown
Lot B, 10th street between Hilton
HDR has not commented on any specific potential sites, other than to say the company wants to keep it's headquarters in Omaha.
