OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Parts of downtown Omaha near the Douglas County Courthouse were evacuated Friday afternoon due to a suspicious package.
The bomb squad was brought in to neutralize the package. It made a loud echo in downtown Omaha.
As of 6:30 p.m. Friday, the scene was under control and the public is safe.
Authorities are looking for suspect(s) who may or may not have intentionally left the packages there.
The Omaha Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Omaha Fire department were all on scene.
Employees in the area were told to evacuate at around 3 p.m., many still waiting to get their stuff for the weekend.
