Pokemon Go players clean up cemetery

Posted

The Pokemon go game app has received a lot of attention since it's release earlier this summer.

The game's supporters have advocated it's players to practice safety while also pointing out the exercise and interactiveness players experience.

Well on Sunday at Prospect Cemetery in Omaha, KMTV witnessed Pokemon go players practicing community service and learning about local history.

"I went to Franklin Elementary as a child and we literally took field trips here and the teachers would make that part of the history lesson is teaching us who is in here and what their connection was to the city," said Rondae Hill.

"It looked like it had been, just kind of like, forgotten. I was like, let's clean this up!," said Lisa Varnas-Rex.

The volunteers hope to do this more often before the snow falls.
