A man is accused of firing shots at cars and houses in an Omaha neighborhood overnight, police say.

The Omaha Police Department says 34-year-old Irvin Harris was arrested after a report of gunshots being fired around 1 a.m. near 45th Street and Lafayette Avenue.

Police said witnesses described seeing a man shoot a gun and point it at neighbors who went outside to see what was happening.

“Officers determined that Harris had damaged several vehicles and houses in the area, and had pointed the gun at a resident who had stepped outside to see what was going on,” police said in a statement.

He faces charges of making terroristic threats, possession of a gun by a prohibited person, unlawful discharge of a firearm and three counts of criminal mischief.
