As people ring in the new year, it's a busy night for ride sharing and police as they try to keep drunk people off the roads.
Todd Snover will be busy ringing in the New Year, "After the New Year rings in it will really open up and bar closing time will of course be a rush of people leaving."
He's a Lyft and Uber driver ready to give you ride if you drink too much.
"Just hopefully nobody makes a choice to get behind the wheel and drive drunk," said Snover.
Also on the streets are many more police vehicles, watching for signs if you've had a few too many drinks. The Omaha Police Department urges you to have a plan if you're going out.
"If you're going with a friend or spouse you maybe designate one person who is partying and one person to be the driver -- or you can obviously use a cab," said Sergeant Jason Menning.
Snover hopes many of you heed that advice as you ring in the New Year, "Not only is it putting the drunk driver in danger he's dangering the lives and the safety of those around him or her so it's important to make a right choice".
Drivers tell KMTV on a busy night like New Years Eve, they can expect 30-40 dollars a night.
