Omaha police say crews suspended recovery efforts around 9:30 Thursday night without finding a 17-year-old boy who went into the Missouri River.

Police say he was with his aunt and four cousins north of Dodge Park around 7:30 tonight. A boater who called 911 tells KMTV that the woman tried to help the teen but began struggling herself.

Crews from the Omaha Police Department, Omaha Fire Department, Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office helped with the rescue which then turned into a recovery.

They have kept boats nearby so that they can resume the search tomorrow morning.
