Safety inspections at the Bob Kerrey pedestrian bridge have wrapped up, allowing the bridge to reopen.
Inspections began Monday and were slated to continue possibly until Friday.
During the inspections, members of the Omaha Fire Department took advantage to get in some rappelling training.

The bridge reopening was announced Thursday on twitter by Brook Bench, the Parks and Recreation Director for the city of Omaha.
