Shoppers were out for day after Christmas deals

Posted

Shoppers were out in full force looking to score on day after Christmas deals and to return unwanted gifts.

“People have been spending the holiday with their relatives and now they are really ready to get out,” said Westroads General Manager, Jim Sadler.

Stores across Omaha were full of activity.

“Very busy, especially for returns, and i didn't have any returns because I liked everything I got,” said Ruby, who was out shopping.

Sadler said Westroads was busy as soon as the doors opened, and in some years the day after Christmas can be busier than black Friday.

“it’s really kind of a tossup, black Friday is usually about the 5th busiest day, so the busiest day is the Saturday before Christmas, the day after Christmas always rivals everything because everybody is ready to get out,” said Sadler.

The rush continued past sunset, and was prevalent across Omaha.

Back inside at the mall, people were mostly cheerful, and got even happier when they saw slashed prices.

“There are good deals, I mean you have to go for it,” said one shopper.

Westroads will go back to normal hours on Sunday.
