Triple homicide victim's father speaks with 3 News Now

Posted

The father of triple homicide victim Leonna Dalton-Phillip is out of town, but he had plenty to say about his 18-year-old daughter when he joined 3 News Now by phone.

"I ended up giving my daughter a hug kissed her on the forehead hugged her for a minute or two told her how much I loved her how proud I was of her like I always do. Sometimes when she's at school I text her tell her how much i love her and how proud i am of her she'll text back and be like 'aw thanks dad' and I gave her a hug kissed her on her forehead I was like 'I know you don't like germs kiss you on your forehead instead of your lips' and she started laughing and I left and it was the last time I seen my daughter alive."

Phillip also said he hopes the suspect, John Dalton Jr., "gets the death penalty, and I wanna witness him take his last breath."

Dalton-Phillip was a senior and was on the drill team at Burke High School. OPS released this statement: "She was an exceptional and passionate leader among our student body. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.:

Additionally, the drill team posted a tribute to her on Facebook.
