According to the Omaha Fire Department, fireworks were the cause of two fires overnight.
Around 1:30 a.m., fire crews responded to the area of S 39th and J St where light smoke was showing on approach.
The fire was extinguished quickly and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was deemed accidental due to improper disposal of fireworks debris.
Another fire happened about an hour later in the area of N Saddle Creek Rd and California St.
There were no injuries and the fire was quickly put out.
The Omaha Fire Department says the cause of the fire was also accidental due to fireworks.
Fireworks caused annoyance for many in Omaha on Saturday as well.
It was a rough night for Van Gibbs.
Neighbors across the street threw a humongous party and lit up the sky for hours.
On Sunday, he was stuck cleaning up their mess.
“We had debris on the roof, we had debris in the gutters,” says Gibbs.
He spent four hours cleaning up the yard, roof and gutters.
“There were three powder burns on the roof, from the stuff that landed on the roof.”
He's now no longer wants to live in Omaha, because of the city's firework laws.
“We’re going to move, I’ve had it. This is enough.”
