Omaha Police have arrested 31-year-old Isacc John for criminal homicide after he allegedly killed 57-year-old Linda Chase.
Police found Chase dead inside her home near 39th and Fort St Saturday morning.
“It’s hard, I loved her so much, she was so full of love, it didn't matter who you were, or what your problems were, she was always there,” said Holly Stanton, who is the victims niece.
“I don't know why anyone would want to do this to her, I don't understand it,” said Stanton.
She described Chase as a kind person, who had recently moved into the neighborhood, “she didn't have enemies, even if she didn't have anything to give you she would still try.”
Officer Jessica Swanson said detectives are closely examining every piece of evidence they find.
“These are the kind of investigations you want to take slow to get right for the families sake,” said Swanson.
Stanton and her family said even after an arrest, they will always wonder why.
“There was no reason for what ever happened in there to have happened, there wasn't,” said Stanton.
The original call for officers was for a cutting, but have not released how Chase died.
