Westbound I-80 was down to one lane for hours tonight after a crash at 84th Street.
Omaha Police and the Nebraska State Patrol responded to the multi-vehicle crash around 5:30 p.m. All lanes opened just before 8 p.m.
Investigators determined that the driver of a Chevy Malibu was stopped because of backed up traffic. A semi rear-ended the Malibu. This led to a chain reaction type crash involving four other vehicles including a Subaru.
Paramedics took two people to Nebraska Medicine with serious injuries.
The driver of the Malibu, Anastassia Grant, suffered a back injury. She was not wearing a seat belt according to police. The driver of the Subaru, Nicholas Moneymaker, suffered a head injury.
The crash has backup traffic for hours.
