OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — You've seen the images of animals suffering through the wildfires in Australia. Here in Omaha, the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium has pledged to donate funds to help those needing emergency care but says the full impact has yet to be realized.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo cares for more than 50 different animals that call Australia home.

The zoo has sent $5,000 to organizations assisting with emergency care for animals...because the biggest need right now is money for supplies and vet care.

It's unclear how badly damaged habitats are at this point and some may have been wiped out said one zoo official.
