"This is a bucket list item," Cher Klosner-Lane said she stepped on the Holland Center stage.

Klosner-Lane was one of two local songwriters who won a contest, getting their songs performed and recorded at the acoustic dream come true in Omaha. Jayme Argotsinger, 19, also won.

Omaha Performing Arts Partnered with The Broadway League and Broadway's Beautiful - The Carole King Musical for the contest. More than 40 local artists registered.

The Broadway musical follows the rise of famed singer/songwriter Carole King who wrote the songbook to an entire generation of the 1960s. Her songs include "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" and "It's Too Late".
