In Omaha we as parents get spoiled.
The Durham and the Children's Museum have interactive and educational exhibits for the kids. Today, a mobile museum hits the road for kids across the state.
Playing, tinkering, learning, all on 18 wheels. That was the dream of Nebraska first lady Susanne Shore. "This is one of those projects that other states have tried to do and we thought what a great idea. We didn't know if we could pull it off."
But pull it off they did, just in time for Nebraska's 150th birthday. The Mobile Children's Museum is trucking along. Built in Nebraska, a 53-foot state-of-the-art air-ride, double-expandable trailer has GPS tracking, most importantly, if you ask any kids, there's inside and outside exhibits. Kids can build shelters and test them in wind and earthquake simulators. They can design their own 10-acre homestead, test their knowledge of Nebraska, explore toys from the past, or create craft their own postcards and more. The cab's also wi-fi filled, has its own generator and is ADA accessible.
From dream to reality for a future generation of players, tinkerers, and learners.
