KMTV's Upfront at 4 Reporter Lindsey Theis says she talked to a few people at Zorinsky Lake Park who said they were playing hooky to enjoy Friday's weather.
At noon, temperatures were already in the 60s for the Omaha metro. Those at the park didn't seem to mind the windy conditions.
"We did talk to a few folks who say they were playing hooky, but we said, 'OK, we don't want to out ya,' so we didn't get them on camera," said Theis from the top of a slide during KMTV Action 3 News at Midday.
The playground was filled with children and their parents at the park, taking advantage of the break from winter.
"It's just an incredible change. I was in Chicago for work for the last two days, so it was very nice to come home to this, this beautiful weather," said Erinn Drouin.
The mild weather will continue into the weekend, according to KMTV's Severe Weather Alert Team.
KMTV Meteorologist Ryan McPike says Saturday will reach the lower 60s, followed by temperatures in the mid-50s on Sunday.
