OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Creighton men's basketball team has its toughest challenge of the season Saturday when they host No. 1 Gonzaga.
This is the third time in school history the Bluejays are facing the top team in the country. The players understand the challenge this brings.
"You only get a certain number of times in your lifetime where your team will host the number-one team in the country," said Head Coach Greg McDermott. "This will be the third time in our history, this will be fun for everybody involved, but there's also a reason they're number-one."
"They're the number-one team in the country," said sophomore guard Ty-Shon Alexander. "It's pretty much a rematch game from last year. We need to come in with a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of heart and need to play Bluejay basketball."
The Jays and Bulldogs tip-off at 1 p.m. at CHI Health Center Omaha.
