Creighton's Mitch LaGro was named BIG EAST Soccer Defensive Player of the Week while Alex Kapp earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after their performances against Loyola-Chicago and St. John's.
LaGro played a big defensive roll on Saturday and also added his first career goal during Creighton's win over Loyola-Chicago. On Saturday's match against St. John's LaGro and the rest of Creighton's defense only allowed four shots on goal.
Kapp recorded his fifth shutout of the season and fives saves during Tuesday night's game, he then had three saves on Saturday during Creighton's 1-1 draw. Kapp finished the week with a 0.45 goals against average.
LaGro and Kapp have both helped Creighton achieve a 0.47 goals against average through 10 matches, ranking them best in the BIG EAST and ninth nationally.
Creighton hosts Butler on Friday at 7 p.m.
