Creighton's Megan Ballenger has been named BIG EAST Volleyball Freshman of the Week for the second straight week. Ballenger averaged 3.30 points, 2.50 kills, 1.30 digs, 0.80 blocks and 0.40 aces per set at the Ameritas Players Challenge. Ballenger finished Friday’s 3-0 sweep over Gonzaga with 13 kills, five digs, four assists, two blocks and a career-high three aces. She also contributed six kills, four blocks and three digs on .357 hitting in the Bluejays win against Montana State. Ballenger ended the Ameritas Players Challenge with six kills, five digs, two blocks and an ace against Nebraska.
Creighton (6-6) hosts Marquette Friday at 7 p.m.
