At Nebraska's practice Tuesday, the defense sported a new look, rocking the old "killer bees" jerseys from the Tom Osborne-era.
The jerseys are yellow with black numbers and were worn by all defenders not on the scout team. Next week the team will hand out Blackshirts while the second-team players will be stuck in the yellow uniforms.
"I think they're pretty nice jerseys but I think some of these guys are ready to get out of them and put on a black one," Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander said. "But it's a mental reward for getting out of those things and putting on a black jersey."
"I'm not too sure the whole reasoning behind it but they are nice jerseys, they're game-fabric jerseys so we'll take what we can get," said safety Jojo Domann.
The Huskers will be taking on a team known to wear yellow and black, Colorado, Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
