COLLEGE PARK, Md. (KMTV) — The Nebraska men's basketball team lost a heartbreaker at Maryland on Wednesday night, 74-72.
The Huskers fell to 11-3 overall, 1-2 in Big Ten play. The Big Red blew an eight point 2nd half lead as the Terrapins' Jalen Smith scored the game-winner on a floater with three seconds remaining. Nebraska had a chance in the final seconds but couldn't get a shot off. James Palmer Jr. scored a game-high 26 points in the loss, while Anthony Cowan led the way for the Terps with 19.
NU travels to 25th-ranked Iowa on Sunday starting at 4:30 p.m. on BTN.
